TUMBLR.  I NEED YOUR HELP.
So Kiwi bought me this charming miniature portrait of an 18th-Century Woman for Christmas/Chanukah/Saturnalia/Winter Solstice/Whatever.
I KNOW I have seen this portrait before, but for the life of me I CANNOT PLACE where I saw it or who the woman is.
SO
I know there are a tonne of fellow history geeks here on tumblr.  So PLEASE help a girl out.
Who is this woman?  What is this painting?

  4. 18thcenturylove said: Found it! It’s a touched up detail of “Marie Josephine de Savoie by Jean-Baptiste Gautier Dagoty” painted in 1775. I’ll reblog this at 10am tomorrow with a link to the original :)
  5. 18thcenturylove answered: I’m looking for it. The subject is a late 18th century French woman, but it looks like someone else is supposed to be in the original.
